For 16 years Fontana, Ca has played host to the South Ridge Winter Series. The series spans about two months with a total of five events. Athletes compete in various classes including Cross Country, Downhill, 4 Cross, Super D, and Observed Trials. Each class has its own point system and rules. (more…)

County Fairgoers put down the giant turkey legs and fried Twinkies to take a seat inside the Fairplex Stadium to witness the ASA World Championships of Freestyle Motocross – and we got to be there on the inside, front and center. For 14 years Redondo Beach has played host to one of the most epic events around the South Bay. Body Glove threw one hell of an event this year, bringing the five things we here at Epicology love most to this year’s Lobster Festival: Excellent food, friends and family, classic tunes, gorgeous models, and some gnarly wakeboarding – to make for a three-day event like no other. Even with less than stellar surf conditions, the Whitney Marie Young Surf Contest in Torrance Beach turned out to be a blast, churning out dozens of competitors to show and compete for some seriously epic prizes on a beautiful day at the beach. From early teens to late 30’s, surfers of all ages came out to show they could still shred the smaller-than-hoped-for waves with some serious style. Jamie Bestwick Shredding it at the X-Games BMX Vert
The Epicology Team got to be front and center for some incredible skill during the BMX vert finals. The riding level was insanely high and the airs these guys were throwin’ even higher. The Epic Battle between big names like CoCo Zurita, longtime veteran Dennic McCoy, Chad Kagy, Simon Tabron and of course Jamie Bestwick, gave the fans something to seriously drop jaws about. (more…)
The engines revved and the exhaust cracked like gun fire as the rally cars were set to do battle on this years X-Games rally course – and we got to cover it all (of course). If you’ve never seen these races before…well, you’re missing a good part of your life. From dirt to cement to hairpin turns to 75ft gaps, there’s never a dull moment…especially with the upsets that took place this year at the X-Games 15 rally car race. (more…)

After approximately 2,500 ranked waves during the US Open of Surf, Day 9 crowned the Huntington Beach local boy, Brett Simpson, Champion, as he took the gold…and $100,000 – the largest prize money ever to be offered for a surfing event. (more…)
